The Almanac is published by the Appellate Practice Section and focuses on issues of Oregon appellate law and practice. This year’s theme will be the 50th anniversary of the Oregon Court of Appeals, but non-theme pieces are welcome as well. The Almanac publishes works in the following areas:
- Biographies/interviews/profiles of current and past figures in Oregon law
- Court history, statistics, and trivia
- Legal analysis of recent, significant, or overlooked Oregon appellate cases
- Practice tips
- Miscellany – humor, poetry, wit, etc.
Works should be between 500 and 2000 words and very lightly footnoted. Motions for over-length articles will be granted only in extraordinary or compelling circumstances. Submissions are due June 1, so write early and write often! If you have questions or would like to submit a piece, please email the editor, Nora Coon, at [email protected].
